Thanksgiving

We went to Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop's for Thanksgiving and ate a delicious, traditional feast. There was so much food Mom-Mom even forgot to put some of it on the table. Brandon had a bodacious cold so he stuffed napkins up his nose as a natural alternative to harsh decongestants.

Aunt Amy and I worked on a secret project for Dan and Alyssa. It involved birdseed and miniature tractor...I'm pretty sure they'll be excited when they open it up at Christmas.

The boys helped Mom-mom with some Christmas lights and the wind was brisk so Brandon broke a kite.

Before we went to down to Delaware there was a hair dying party for Lindsay and I. Lindsay is now a striking redhead and I'm Morticia Adams. All in all in was a fabulous Thanksgiving and we had a great time.

The Brandon Zone

We all crammed into the Toad after church to drive home and I asked Brandon how I did when I taught his Sunday School class. Silence. Richard asked Brandon again and there was no answer.
So Lindsay asked him, very loudly, in his ear and he responded, "What?"

A few miles down the road we got on the subject of good and bad drivers and Richard said that the main thing about being a good driver is paying attention. Brandon said, "That's not good."

You're late...again

This was the last morning we took the cousins to seminary. As usual, they were waiting with their coats and backpacks on at the door. Lindsay wandered by in her pajamas as I shouted, "I'm starting up the car!!" in a threatening manner. Brandon found some socks in the living room that were probably only worn twice and Ethan floated by with most of his clothes on.

The cousins and I trooped out to the car, followed by Brandon. Stephen pointed out that the heater wouldn't work until the arrow on the engine temperature indicator went above "C" for cold, but that I wouldn't want it at "H" for hot or the engine would explode. Lindsay galloped out to the car a minute later, fully clothed somehow. She must have found Superman's phone booth or something. Five minutes later Ethan arrived, his shoes in his hands and some homework under his arm. Stephen noted that we wouldn't possibly make it to seminary by 6:10 if it was already 6:05. Thank you, dear.

I pulled out of the driveway and then noticed everyone had their trash out. We turned around and the boys trotted out to the trash cans. We left again. I forgot there was a detour on the way to seminary which took some extra time.

I pulled into the Sutton's driveway to let the kids out. Ethan looked at the clock on his way out and said, "You're late again."

AAAAAAAARRRRRGHH!

The cousins are staying over for a few nights while Uncle Chris is out of town on busines and Aunt Kristi is taking care of her mom in Oklahoma. I would first like to note that the cousins are really, really, really responsible. Like, wow. They can take over my life anytime. Ashley and Nicole have been doing all the cooking for dinners since Aunt Kristi left.

And this morning when we were getting ready for seminary Ashley, Nicole and Stephen were all waiting in the living room while the rest of us shuffled around looking for socks. Okay, and Brandon was ready. He's always ready!

I dropped Stephen off at school and he knew exactly where to go. He also knew when I should be pulling out into traffic and gave me some driving pointers. "You could have gone!!" Relax, mister. I'm driving your mom's van so I'm being careful. If I were in the Lancer I'd be more zippy.

Last night before bed Stephen asked me if a I had a spare toothbrush and I told him that we did. He then asked, "Do you have one that isn't used?" I showed him the actual package containing the new, unused toothbrush and he looked relieved.

Alyssa and Dan are over the top on the Newlywed Cuteness Scale with their gingerbread house. I feel the need to compete. We'll work out something this weekend to really impress you. A Twinkie Condo or something.
